What a Video Shoot Actually Costs in Ghana (2026 Prices)

Real 2026 numbers from a working Sunyani studio — what brand commercials, wedding reels and music videos actually cost in Ghana, and what moves the price up or down.

What a Video Shoot Actually Costs in Ghana (2026 Prices)
Ask ten production studios in Ghana what a shoot costs and nine will tell you to slide into the DMs. There's a reason for the silence — every job is genuinely different, and nobody wants their number sitting on a page for a competitor to undercut. But it leaves the person actually trying to plan a budget with nothing to work with. You end up guessing, or collecting quotes that range from GHS 300 to GHS 30,000 with no way to tell what separates them. So here are ours, in the open. The short answer: professional video in Ghana starts at around GHS 600 for a single cinematic wedding reel and runs past GHS 5,000 for a narrative music video or short film. Most brand work lands between GHS 1,500 and GHS 3,000. Everything below explains what sits inside those numbers — and what makes them move. Brand and commercial video The Social Starter — from GHS 1,500 Built for small businesses that need to look established online before they are. You get one 60-second reel cut for Instagram and TikTok, our signature color grade, five high-end edited product stills, and art direction on styling and setup before we shoot. That last part matters more than people expect — half of what makes a product look expensive on camera is decided before the camera is switched on. Right fit for: a cafe launching a new dish, a salon, a boutique, a small brand that needs one strong piece of content rather than a campaign. The Cinematic Commercial — from GHS 3,000 Built for established brands running an actual campaign rather than a one-off post. One 60-second main commercial at YouTube and broadcast quality, plus three 15-second cut-downs optimised for social, full art direction and set styling, advanced color grading and sound design, and ten professional photographs from the same shoot. The cut-downs are the quiet value here. One shoot day produces a main film for your website and three separate pieces for the feed, so the content doesn't die after one post. The Director's Choice — from GHS 5,000 Music videos, short films, anything narrative. Full cinematography and lighting plan, complete post-production including editing and a cinema-grade color pass, and behind-the-scenes snippets for promotion. This one is quoted per project rather than fixed, because cast size and location needs move it more than anything else — a two-location shoot with six people on camera is a different production from a single-room performance video, even when the final runtime is identical. Wedding coverage Vertical reels rather than the traditional two-hour wedding film, because that's what actually gets watched and shared. Package Coverage Deliverable From Traditional Wedding Reel Up to 2 hours One 30–45 sec cinematic reel GHS 600 White Wedding Reel Up to 4 hours, ceremony highlights One 45–60 sec reel + a 15 sec teaser GHS 1,000 Reception Reel Up to 3 hours, evening One 30–45 sec reel GHS 800 All three come trend-ready — music, pacing, captions — delivered in 9:16 for Instagram and TikTok, in three to seven days depending on the package. Booking all three normally comes to GHS 2,400. Together it's GHS 2,100, and the three reels are cut to tell one continuous story across the day rather than three disconnected clips. What actually moves a quote Seven things, in roughly the order they matter: Shoot length. Hours on location drive everything downstream — crew time, data, edit time. Crew size. A one-videographer reel and a full commercial with a gaffer and art department are different animals. Art direction. Styling a set, sourcing props, building a look — this is where "nice footage" becomes something that sells. Location and travel. Travel outside Sunyani is billed separately. Permits and access at certain locations add cost too. Number of deliverables. One film versus one film and three cut-downs is a real difference in edit and grade time, not a copy-paste. Post-production depth. A custom DaVinci Resolve grade built for your brand is not a LUT dragged over a timeline, and sound design is a separate craft from picture edit. Cast and talent. Anyone in front of the camera who isn't you is a line item. What isn't included Being straight about this saves everyone a conversation later. Raw footage isn't part of any package — the finished, graded piece is the deliverable. Travel outside Sunyani is billed separately. Talent fees, venue permits and extra edit versions are quoted on top. And any of it can be customised: longer edits, extra cuts, additional shoot days all have a price, you just have to ask for them up front. Why two quotes for "the same" shoot look nothing alike Because they usually aren't the same shoot. At the lower end of the market you're buying a person with a camera who will hand you a file. That's a legitimate service and sometimes it's exactly what a job needs. What it doesn't include is anyone deciding what the frame should look like before it's shot, a color pipeline that keeps your brand consistent across every piece, or a plan for how one shoot day becomes a month of content. The honest way to compare quotes isn't the number at the bottom. It's this: how many finished pieces do I get, who is directing the look, what happens in post, and what does the studio's previous work actually look like on a screen. If a quote can't answer those, the price isn't low — it's just unexplained. If you'd rather learn to shoot it yourself Not everyone reading this is hiring. Some of you have a camera and want to know why your footage doesn't look like the work you're benchmarking against. We run 1-on-1 mentorship in Sunyani on real gear, in real conditions — videography and photography tracks, from GHS 700 for a one-week foundation track to GHS 3,000 for the full cinematic production track, which includes shadowing a live client shoot and leaving with a finished portfolio piece. Booking terms A 40% non-refundable deposit secures your date. The balance is due on or before the shoot day. Reschedules are honoured with 14 or more days' notice, subject to availability. Dates go quickly in wedding season, so earlier is better than later. Frequently asked How much does a music video cost in Ghana? With us, from GHS 5,000, quoted per project. Cast size, number of locations and how much of the look has to be built rather than found are what move it. How much is wedding videography in Sunyani? Cinematic reels start at GHS 600 for a single ceremony and GHS 2,100 for full-day coverage across traditional, white wedding and reception. Do you travel outside Sunyani? Yes — across the Bono Region and beyond. Travel is billed separately from the package rate. Do I get the raw footage? No. The edited, graded piece is the final deliverable. If you need additional cuts from the same shoot, those can be quoted. How far ahead should I book? For weddings and event work, as far ahead as you can. For brand shoots, two to three weeks gives us room to plan the look properly instead of improvising on the day. Ready to price your project?
